In 1901 Carlo and Emilio Lagostina created cookware essential to Italian cooking and that is both beautiful and practical. The cookware was first made in the lovely northern Italian town of Omegna, on the banks of the Orta Lake. The Lagostina cookware brand became so popular that close to 30,000 pieces of it were made daily in the family’s factory in northern Italy. Decades of innovation followed, including the first use of stainless steel plates to improve cookware performance as well as the introduction of a thermo-diffuser bottom to ensure even heat distribution. Today, the Lagostina tradition of innovation continues with environmentally friendly Axia ceramic non-stick cookware.
