  • MetroKitchen.com recommends washing your knives by hand; then immediately drying them. Do not let your knives soak in water.
  • Avoid cleaners containing bleach or citrus extracts, as they may stain the surface of your knives.
  • For longer lasting knives, cut on a wooden cutting board. Cutting on hard surfaces such as stone, metal or glass quickly dulls blades.
  • To maintain a sharper cutting edge, use a sharpening steel, preferably each time after using your knives.
  • It's best to store your Zwilling Henckels knife so the edge and your fingers are protected, preferably in a block or in-drawer knife tray.
  • We suggest using a meat cleaver when you need to cut through bone, otherwise you can damage your knife blade.
  • Lifetime warranty from Zwilling JA Henckels with normal use and proper care
  • German steel, knife made in Spain

"ChefDan"
"I received this knife for my birthday and couldn't have been more pleased. This knife cuts anything with amazing ease and precision. I've looked at Wusthoff knives before, but couldn't afford them. This knife must be just as good, if not better, and is affordable. If you are considering this knife, but it. You won't regret it."

"Henckel is a good value but..."
"For the money this is a very nice knife. $50 isn't bad for this type of knife. It holds its edge fairly well althought the alloy seems to be softer than my Wusthof knives. It has been two years since receiving this knife as a gift and I have always treated it with the best care (no dish washer, ONLY hand wash) and never let it soak in water (soapy or not). This knife has started to rust a little in the center of the blade. I know I can use Bartender's Friend to remove this rust, but it simply SHOULDN'T rust, especially there! All said, it was a beautiful knife to get me into cooking seriously. As soon as I got used to using this 7" Henckel I went out and tried out different knives and I found the Wusthof Classic Ikon to be FAR superior. Granted the Wusthof is more expensive, but a knife like this isn't like a car that you have for a maximum of 10 years. A knife like this realistically should last someone who takes care of their knives 20 or more years without an issue. Also keep in mine that Henckel does not does stand behind their product nearly as well as virtually any other manufacture in this category. If the handle starts falling apart (obvious manufacture defect) then J.A. Henckel requires the individual consumer to send it back to them before receiving the replacement. This seems fine, but Wusthof allows authorized dealers to give an instant replacement to the consumer no questions asked. Hopefully you'll never have to depend on the warranty, but what happens when you need it??? You get what you pay for."

"Love it"
"I have had this knife for several years and just love it. I use it practically every day. When one of the buttons on the side came out, Henckel sent me a brand new knife. Thank you again for your great warranty. This knife is the greatest for chopping onions, peppers, slicing cucumbers and even tomatoes."
