  • First, unplug sharpener before cleaning it.
  • Then remove the small rectangular clean-out cover and wipe filings from the magnet with a paper towel or small brush.
  • No lubrication is needed for any moving parts of this electric knife sharpener.
  • Unplug sharpener before cleaning it

"Less than Expected"  
"As a Shun knife customer I expected an excellent sharpener from this supplier. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed in the performance of the AP0119. The unit will not provide a sharp edge to a Shun 7-in. Santoku 16 Degree blade, let alone offer a restored factory quality edge. I have tried patiently to follow the written instructions. I had seen a comment that a DVD comes with the unit and offers some very good tips. The DVD was not included in my package. My Chef's Choice Mod#130 is used on my European blades and does a much better job. Based on my experience I will look at Chef's Choice for Asian blades for my next sharpener. EDITOR's NOTE: We're sorry you're not happy with the Shun sharpener. We have passed your comments onto Shun and we will be back in touch as soon as we hear from them."
