Mauviel Induction Disc

Item ID: M-7500-00

Because the Mauviel induction disc (or disk) is magnetic, you can pair it with non-magetic pots and pans to make most cookware pieces induction compatible. That's because this amazing induction disc from Mauviel is magnetic, the property required for cooking on induction. The disc is made in France and comes with Mauviel's lifetime warranty.

  • This Mauviel disc enables most non-induction compatible cookware to be used on induction cooktops and ranges.
  • The disc measures 8.5 incheses in diameter.
  • Lifetime warranty from Mauviel with normal use and proper care.
  • Made in France

Please note: because heat has to transfer through additional layers of metal, the speed we appreciate with induction will not be the same as when induction compatible cookware is used. The energy generated by the induction cooktop when using a disc must first heat the disc. Then heat must transfer to the pot, then finally heat transfers to the food. Viking induction cooktops have been found to not be consistently compatible with some LeCruset cookware, even with the use of an induction disc.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Because the induction disc has to heat an additional layer of metal, depending on the cookware, food can take more time to cook than when using induction-compatible cookware, without a disc. Review - "the disc took 35 min. to come to a low boil simmer and this was set to the very highest setting on the induction top 450 deg. I was extremey upset,as i love this induction cooker, can use my le creuset on it but was hoping to use all my pans too. disc only slows things down to a crawl."
