This Shun Classic 7 inch hollow-ground santoku knife is one of our best-selling types of cutlery. The hollows in the edge of this Asian chef's knife provide air pockets to help prevent foods from sticking to the blade while you work. The 32+ layers of specialty stainless steel that go into the blade of this Shun knife also help to keep your food from sticking as you slice. The straight santoku blade edge is one of the best blade profiles for general-purpose work. With a lifetime guarantee from Shun, you can be sure you're getting great quality cutlery.

You'll be thrilled at how easily food slides off the blade while you chop thanks to the dimpled edge of this santoku blade from Shun
  • The edge of this all-purpose knife stays sharper for longer thanks to its patented VG-10 super stainless steel core.

  • 32 layers of a patented blend of metals on top of the stainless core add strength and create the beautiful Damascus design on the blade.
  • Limited lifetime warranty from Shun with normal use and proper care.

  • recommends washing your knives by hand and immediately drying them. Do not let your knives soak in water.
  • Avoid cleaners containing bleach or citrus extracts, as they may stain the surface of your knives.
  • For longer lasting knives, cut on a wooden cutting board. Cutting on hard surfaces such as stone, metal or glass quickly dulls blades.
  • To maintain a sharper cutting edge, use a sharpening steel, preferably each time after using your knives.
  • It's best to store your Shun knife so the edge and your fingers are protected, preferably in a block or in-drawer knife tray.
  • We suggest using a meat cleaver when you need to cut through bone, otherwise you can damage your knife blade.
  • Shun knives don't need frequent sharpening because they are made from 32 extremely durable layers of stainless steel.
  • Lifetime limited warranty from Shun with normal use and proper care.
  • Made in Japan
  • Free lifetime sharpening from Shun. Pay only for shipping; $5 for the first knife, $2 for each additional knife. Please print and complete this form and ship to Shun with the knives you'd like to have sharpened.

I have had this knife for 4 years. I do take care of it. not allowed to be placed in the sink or dish washer! put back in the rack when done with work. I finally touched it up with a steel after two years use.

I have NEVER had a knife that was what I called sharp...By the time I finished slicing and chopping with my OTHER knives..I had worked up a sweat and felt like I had put in a full days work...I asked for a really good Chef's knife for Christmas and my son surprised me with this Santoku...It is the most AMAZING KNIFE I HAVE EVER SEEN..!! The first thing I sliced was an onion and it was like cutting butter...and was soooo smooth!! If you are looking for the BEST in knives...LOOK NO WHERE ELSE...THIS IS IT..!! INCREDIBLE DOESN'T EVEN SEEM TO BE THE BEST WORD TO DESCRIBE THIS KNIFE...NOW, I'M LOOKING TO BUY OTHERS IN THIS LINE!!
