This Shun Classic Pro 9.5 inch yanagiba knife is ideal for slicing raw fish, such as sushi and sashimi thanks to its long blade and super-sharp edge. You can also use it for slicing meat like roasts. It has the traditional Japanese-style single-bevel edge that's razor sharp and easy to resharpen on a whetstone. This Shun Classic Pro yanagiba knife also looks amazing because it has a beautiful etched pattern on its blade and a PakkaWood handle that's made from hardwood and resin. Shun Classic Pro knives are made in Japan and have a lifetime warranty with normal use and proper care.

  • Avoid cleaners containing bleach or citrus extracts, as they may stain the surface of your knives.
  • For longer lasting knives, cut on a wooden cutting board. Cutting on hard surfaces such as stone, metal or glass quickly dulls blades.
  • To maintain a sharper cutting edge, use a sharpening steel, preferably each time after using your knives.
  • It's best to store your Shun knife so the edge and your fingers are protected, preferably in a block or in-drawer knife tray.
  • We suggest using a meat cleaver when you need to cut through bone, otherwise you can damage your knife blade.
