The Shun Premier 7 inch sumo santoku knife has a wider blade than the standard santoku, which makes it perfect for chopping and scooping large bunches of greens and other vegetables. The blade also has a hammered finish that gives it an attractive watery appearance. The blade is long-lasting and resistant to damage because each side of the blade is clad with 16 layers of stainless steel. It also holds its razor sharp edge for longer because the knife's core is made of special VG-10 "super steel." This Shun Premier sumo santoku knife features a beautiful walnut-finished PakkaWood handle made of white birch and resin. Made in Japan, it comes with a lifetime warranty with normal use and proper care.

  • To maintain a sharper cutting edge, use a sharpening steel, preferably each time after using your knives.
  • It's best to store your Shun knife so the edge and your fingers are protected, preferably in a block or in-drawer knife tray.
  • We suggest using a meat cleaver when you need to cut through bone, otherwise you can damage your knife blade.
