The Staub Cast Iron 1½ qt. Large Rectangular Terrine, in Matte Black, makes for a stylish serving dish for terrines, foie gras, fresh bread, pound cake or bread puddings. The temperature retention properties of enameled cast iron allow the dish to remain hot or cold at the table, depending upon the recipe served. Its tight-fitting lid traps the heat or cold until the contents are served. Terrine dishes are traditionally used for mold a mixture like pâté. As the meat cools, the fat within it begins to set, helping the terrine hold its form. The black-matte enameled interior doesn't need seasoning and, as cooking oils seep into the pores over time, will become a self-seasoned, non-stick surface. This cast iron cookware is backed by a Staub lifetime warranty. Made in France
